Frequently Asked Questions:
What types of service do you provide?
I provide pet sitting in your home as well as daily dog walking/playtime and Pet First Aid and CPR instruction. Visits (including dog walkjng or playtime) are either 30, 45 or 60 minutes long-depending on your needs.
What is included in my pet sitting visits?
Your pet sitting visits include feeding and medicating your pet, light clean up-including cat box cleaning and picking up after dogs, taking your trash down or bringing up the cans, bringing in the mail and paper, watering plants, changing light patterns, opening/closing curtains or blinds and doing a walk (dogs only), playtime or extended petting session-depending on what your pet wants.
What is included in my dog walking or playtime visits?
Your dog walking or playtime visits include a walk or playtime for the contracted amount of time. I can also feed or medicate your pet if needed.
Can I call you while I'm away to check on my pet?
Absolutely!! Feel free to call anytime or send an email or text message. Keep in mind that I am out and about most of the day, so I may not be able to respond to an email quickly.
Do you have an emergency plan?
Yes. Even though I am committed to what I do, I know that an emergency can happen at any time. As part of the Portland Pet Sitters Association, I have a network of great Pet Sitters that I work with-just in case.
Is there anything I need to do upon my return?
Yes!! I require that all clients call and let me know that they have arrived home safely. If I don't get a call, I will assume you have not made it home and will do extra visits. You will be charged for those visits-regardless if you are home or not when I show up.
When do I pay you for pet care services?
Payment is expected at or before the first day of service. If payment is not received by the first day I visit your home it will be considered late. A $20 late fee will be charged.
My cat is an indoor/outdoor cat. Will you let my cat outside?
I'm sorry, but no. Not only do I feel that I can not provide you with excellent service if I do allow your cat outside, but there is too much liability for me to be comfortable letting cats outside. They could get injured or killed and I may not know until it is too late. I do not like to make those kinds of calls to my clients while they are enjoying their vacations. There is also the issue of your cat developing a medical issue, which I also may not catch right away if they are outside.
